I've just started this series. Book 1 was good and book 2 is better. I expect I will read the entire series. That's the reason it gets 5 stars. I've got a ready supply of books that I know I will enjoy.The books are traditional mysteries in the Agatha Christie style with a fair amount of danger tossed in. In Book 1, Jamie is the target of the attacks. Other people are the target here. There are no plotholes and no loose ends.
The relationship with Jamie and Pete moves forward, which is something I enjoy. I don't like the mystery-of-the-week style series where everyone's role is set in stone.
There are some great supporting characters. Clinton was a minor character in book 1 and he seemed like a peculiar quirky man. He showed up every day and just said the word of the day and moved on. In this book, he's revealed to be more than that.

I read the first book "Cited to Death" enjoyed it so much I turned right around and bought "Hoarded to Death" I really love the characters in these books. Jamie Brodie is such a sweetie, and I love him and Pete together. Even though Jamie and Pete Dig up some heavy emotional issues in this book, over all the book is low key. It is a slow meandering type of story evolving over several months. The mystery isn't the main focus of the story, it is really a character driven romance. At 2942 locations we are given plenty of time to get to know Jamie and Pete, I will be buying the next book also...
I am really enjoying this series. The more I read about these characters the more I like them. I look forward to the next one. Well done.
This is the second book in the series, and this time poor Jamie is involved in helping his less-than-stable former sister-in-law as she participates in cleaning out her apartment for TV. Someone, of course, ends up dead, and it takes Jamie and his usual complement of family, friends and lover to solve the case.
Reading it made me want to clean out my garage! Great story and interesting characters. Only one little formatting error that should be corrected, otherwise fine.
I like cozy mysteries. Here the main protagonist is Jamie Brodie, a librarian with an ex cop/ psychologist boyfriend and a brother who is a current cop. I didn't mind the mystery though would have liked more on the hoarding, a subject that fascinates me. This is a gentle read, good for a rainy day and a cup of tea. It's not a thrilling or gripping read, it's a genuine cozy...
I liked this book as much as I liked the first one in the series. I thought mystery was real enough to justify Jamie's involvement (his area of expertise I mean). I liked that romance was given a touch more attention, but still did not overshadow mystery. I liked that when the guys hit something in their relationship which was problematic and painful for them to deal with, they behaved like adults rather than to make a conflict out of it and break up (which they have not).
I am looking forward to next book in the series.
2nd in the series after Cited to Death (A Jamie Brodie Mystery), I find myself completely immersed in the plot and characters. The crime mystery revolving round the ancient biblical manuscript is intriguing and Jamie getting involved in it is natural and not manufactured at all. I really like Jamie and Peter as a couple and I appreciate the writer giving us insight into Peter's past and how it affected their relationship. There is more romance in this one but it never overshadows the mystery which for me is important since this is foremost a mystery and sleuth series. Much more please.
